Through‑traffic on Ratatie will come to an end
Construction of the Vantaa Light Rail is progressing in Tikkurila. Through‑traffic on Ratatie will end on 19 January, and at that time we will begin building new bus stops. The works are related to the construction of the light rail tunnel.
Through‑traffic on Ratatie will end in front of the current bus terminal on 19 January.
Ratatie will be closed to through‑traffic on Monday 19 January. The alternative route for vehicle traffic will be via Talvikkitie. Pedestrian access and bus services in the area will continue as normal for the time being. You can find more detailed vehicle routes on the attached map.
The purpose of the work is to build a new bus stop on Ratatie, which buses will start using from 9 February. At that time, the Tikkurila bus terminal will be relocated to Ratatie. We will provide separate information about the terminal relocation.
During the week beginning 12 January, we will also move the pedestrian crossing at the roundabout on the south side of Dixi. The work will be carried out during the evening and night. One lane will be closed while the work is in progress, and traffic controllers will be on site to ensure safety.
Tikkurila Station and the Dixi shopping centre will remain open as normal throughout the construction period.
