Vantaa Light Rail Construction Sites and Working Hours 22 December 2025 – 6 January 2026
The builders and planners of the Vantaa Light Rail will take a well-deserved holiday break, with a few exceptions. We also wish you a peaceful Christmas season!

Modification work on the roundabout at Ratatie near Dixi
The tram tunnel builders will begin preparations for relocating the bus terminal, which is why modification work on the roundabout at Ratatie near the Dixi shopping centre will take place in December. The shape of the roundabout will be changed, requiring excavation work and manual stonework within the roundabout.
Pedestrian routes will remain unchanged.
Cars can still pass through the roundabout, but turning around will not be possible.
Work on Ratatie will continue on 22 and 23 December and again during the week starting 29 December. No work will be carried out on public holidays.
Tikkurila Station and the Dixi shopping centre will operate as normal.
Preparations for construction start on Tikkurilantie on 7 January 2026
On Tikkurilantie, between Kielotie and Puutarhatie, a few workers will be preparing future traffic arrangements. These works will not cause significant noise and will not disturb the neighbourhood.
On 7 January 2026, however, street construction will begin on Tikkurilantie, which will affect traffic.
Soil transportation at Plootukallio in Muurala
At the Plootukallio construction site in Muurala, excavation and soil removal will take place on Monday 22 December and Tuesday 23 December. Work will continue on weekdays during the week starting 29 December.
Pedestrian and cycling routes open on Kyytitie During the Holiday Period 19 December 2025 – 6 January 2026
The Kyytitie construction site will open all pedestrian and cycling routes on the south side of Kyytitie for normal use from 19 December to 6 January, from the Heidehof roundabout to Vanha Porvoontie.
An exception is the route from the underpass next to the Heidehof roundabout to Neste, which will be closed on 22 and 23 December.
In addition, the pedestrian crossing at Kyytitie and the northern branch of Vanha Porvoontie will remain closed.
From 7 January 2026 onwards, the walking and cycling routes on the south side of Kyytitie will be closed again and become part of the construction site.
Work on Länsimäentie 29–31 December – route changes
Construction of the Vantaa tramway on Länsimäentie at the bridge crossing over Porvoonväylä will continue during the Christmas and New Year period from 29 to 31 December. Preparatory work related to the construction of the new bridge will be carried out in the area, which will also result in some traffic lanes being closed.
