Traffic Arrangements Will Change on Kyytitie at Porttipuisto in January
The Vantaa Light Rail construction sites will change traffic arrangements on Kyytitie from the Porttipuisto area towards Lahdenväylä. The roundabout at the intersection of Kyytitie and Porttisuontie will be removed and replaced with traffic lights. The pedestrian and cycling route along Kyytitie will run only on the north side of the street. The changes will take effect gradually after January 7, 2026.
Kyytitie in December 2025.
The roundabout at Kyytitie and Porttisuontie will become a traffic-light-controlled intersection. The number of lanes for car traffic will remain the same despite the change.
The intersection of Kyytitie and Porttisuontie will remain in use throughout the modification work.
Traffic controllers will be on site and may need to stop traffic briefly. Initially, piping and installation work related to the traffic lights will be carried out. The change will occur after these works are completed.
Changes to Pedestrian and Cycling Routes
At Kyytitie 28, we will begin preparations for widening the street with the construction of a retaining wall. For this reason, the pedestrian and cycling route on the south side of Kyytitie will become a construction area.
The pedestrian and cycling route will be available on the north side of Kyytitie between the Kesko staff entrance and Kaskelantie.
You can see the routes on the map below. Green indicates pedestrian and cycling routes, the red dotted line indicates closed pedestrian and cycling routes, and yellow indicates the construction area.
Blasting Work Begins in January on Kyytitie Between Porttisuontie and Lahdenväylä
Blasting work will begin on Kyytitie between Porttisuontie and Lahdenväylä in January. Blasting will be carried out on the roadside next to the traffic lanes and partly on the lanes themselves, from the Porttisuontie intersection towards Lahdenväylä. Traffic will be shifted one lane width to the north. The largest single work site is the rock wall at the intersection of Porttisuontie and Kyytitie.
Work will start in January and is expected to continue until the end of March. Blasting will take place during this period on approximately 20 working days, during daytime hours from 7:00 to 18:00, mainly outside peak traffic times. A warning signal will sound before each blast, and traffic will need to be stopped during the blasting.
If the noise causes disturbing sound indoors, you can collect ear protectors from the mailbox attached to the construction site fence. The mailbox is located at the intersection of Kyytitie and Vanha Porvoontie.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
