Preparatory work in the Tikkurila station area to begin on 23 June
Preparatory work on the Vantaa Light Rail is about to begin in the Tikkurila station area. Rail traffic interruptions will start after 23 June, and construction work will be carried out in the station area during the interruptions. Some of the work will cause noise, and noisy work will also be occasionally carried out at night.

Construction work will be carried out on tracks 5 and 6 between 23 June–17 July.
According to the plan, noisy work will be carried out during the day and night between Thursday 26 June and Saturday 5 July. Daytime noisy work will be carried out between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., and nighttime noisy work between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.
We will inform you if there are any changes to these planned times. We need to carry out noisy work at night because there is less traffic on the main railway at night, and our work must accommodate railway traffic.
Examples of work that will cause noise include the installation of sheet pile walls and bored pile driving. During interruptions to rail traffic, temporary bridges will be put in place in the track and station platform area. The construction of the tunnel can continue under these bridges even after the interruptions to rail traffic. Piling wall structures will also be installed in the excavation during the interruption to rail traffic.
We will monitor the noise level, and we have built a noise barrier to reduce noise at the commuter traffic terminal, for example. We will carry out the work with as little noise as possible.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and we thank you for your patience. If you wish, you can pick up earplugs from Tikkurila Library at Lummetie 4 during the library's opening hours.
