Länsimäki Dog Park Closed 26 Jan–8 Feb 2026
Construction of the Vantaa tramway is progressing along Länsimäkivägen, and in the next phase the construction site will move to the area of the Länsimäki dog park. For this reason, the Länsimäki dog park will be completely closed from 26 January to 8 February 2026.
As part of the construction works, trees will be removed from the section of the dog park adjacent to Länsimäkivägen. In addition, a temporary fence will be built in the park, temporarily altering the park’s pathways and size. The nearest alternative dog park is located in Rimapuisto (Maratonkuja 6, 01280 Vantaa), approximately two kilometres from the Länsimäki dog park. The Rimapuisto dog park will remain normally open throughout the closure of the Länsimäki dog park.
The Länsimäki dog park will reopen on Monday, 9 February 2026. We ask park users to take note of the changed routes and the temporarily reduced size of the park. The temporary fence will be constructed safely to ensure that dogs cannot pass under or over it.
The map below shows the locations of the dog park gates and the fencing in place from 9 February onwards. This arrangement will remain in effect until summer 2026.
