Preparatory work for the Vantaa light rail begins on Länsimäentie, near the bridge crossing Highway 7 (Porvoonväylä), in November
Preparatory work for the Vantaa light rail will start in mid-November on Länsimäentie, near the bridge crossing Highway 7 (Porvoonväylä). The work is expected to continue until the end of 2025 and, if necessary, into January. Work will be carried out on weekdays between 7–18.
The work area is located near the dog park enclosure. The northern gate of the dog park will serve as a maintenance access route during the works. Park users can use the other gates, which also have official parking nearby. The area in front of the northern gate will be taken over for construction use
by November 17 at the latest. Official parking for the dog park is available at Vartiotie 2, from where there is a short walk to the nearest park entrance gate. Apart from the restricted use of the northern gate, the dog park will remain open as usual during the preparatory works.
There may be minor and occasional disruptions to vehicle traffic during the setup of temporary work arrangements. The number of lanes in the area will remain unchanged throughout the preparatory phase. The work includes rock removal using a non-vibrating excavation method. However, occasional noise may occur in the area.
