The closure of Vanha Porvoontie between Kyytitie and Kokkokalliontie will last longer than announced – the road will reopen to vehicle traffic on 23 February 2026
Vanha Porvoontie between Kyytitie and Kokkokalliontie had to be closed due to an old concrete duct discovered in the intersection area. The duct had been marked as removed, but excavation revealed that it remains in place over a long distance.
At the intersection of Kyytitie and Vanha Porvoontie, new district heating pipes are planned to be installed and municipal infrastructure renewed. The works have been delayed by the old concrete duct found in the area. Removing the duct requires a wide trench, and it is not possible to build safe temporary driving bridges over the excavation. The demolition work has proven to be more extensive and demanding than initially estimated, which is why the road closure must be extended.
Vanha Porvoontie will reopen to vehicle traffic on 23 February 2026, later than previously announced.
Bus services will continue to operate on a diversion route until 22 February 2026.
We ask motorists in the area to use Kanervantie and Ring III as a detour and to pay special attention to driving speeds.
